A minap összefutottam egy régi ismerőssel a strandon. A srác lába több helyen össze volt varrva. Ugyanígy a gerince mentén is. Megkérdeztem, mi történt. Kiderült, hogy balesete volt. Egyik este elveszítette az uralmát a motorja felett, és belezúgott egy körforgalomba. Tizenegy műtétet hajtottak végre rajta. A legnagyobb baj azonban az volt, hogy eltört a gerince. Közölték vele, ha túl is éli, valószínű tolókocsiba kerül.
– De akkor hogy kerülsz a strandra a saját lábadon? – kérdeztem.
– Egyszerű – felelte. – Egy pillanatig sem hittem el, amit mondanak. Csak arra gondoltam, hogy járni fogok.
Elmondta, hogy végül bekerült az orvosi csodák közé 2008-ban. Nos, elárulom, nekem mit üzen ez a kis sztori. Bárki bármit is mond, felejtsd el a lehetetlent. Töröld ki a szótáradból. De ami még fontosabb, kerüld el azokat, akik folyton azzal tömik a fejed, hogy nem tudod megcsinálni, lehetetlen elérni, felesleges. Ne felejtsd el: NINCS LEHETETLEN, S A KORLÁTOK, MELYEKET MAGAD ELŐTT LÁTSZ, TE MAGAD ÉPÍTED FEL. NEM KELL MÁST TENNED TEHÁT, MINT HINNI. 🙂 Ezért igyekszem emlékezni arra a srácra, aki voltam, mert az a kis huligán mindenben hitt. És szerintem így érdemes élni. The other day I met an old acquaintance of mine at the beach. The guy’s leg had stitches at several places. And so did his backbone. I asked him what had happened. I learned he had had an accident. One night he lost his control over his motorbike and rushed into the roundabout. He was operated eleven times. But the greatest trouble was: he broke his backbone. The doctors told him, even if he survived, he would get into a wheelchair.
‘But how can you be on your own feet in the beach:’ I asked.
‘It’s simple’ he answered. ‘I didn’t believe what they said, not for a moment. I was just thinking: I would go.’
He said, in the end he became a medical miracle in 2008. Well I’ll tell you what the message of this little story is for me. Let anyone say anything to you forget about the impossible. Delete the word from your vocabulary. But what is even more important: avoid people who fill your head saying ‘you can’t do that, it’s impossible to reach it, it is superfluous. Remember: THERE IS NOTHING IMPOSSIBLE. YOU CONSTRUCTED THE BARRIERS STANDING IN FRONT OF YOU. YOU DON’T HAVE TO DO ANYTHING, JUST BELIEVE. 🙂 This is why I am trying to remember the small guy, I was, the small rowdy who could believe everything. 🙂 I think it is worth living just this way, isn’t it? 🙂 -Peter Noel Copyright and all rights reserved.
